all change? or plus ca change?
So what of the next 6 weeks? The Solstice chart represents the high-point of summer, now slowly the days become shorter and the nights longer. It is the time of longest, if not the hottest of days.
What does the chart show? There is to be an election on July 4th. The Government, shown by Mars in detriment in Taurus, wallowing in the mud in other words. Mars is applying to a sextile of Saturn, also peregrine in Pisces. Saturn does rule the Ascendant, but as both planets are debilitated, it is unlikely there will be good news for the government. The aspect is exact on July 5th at 19.02, when presumably most of the votes will have been counted. It is commonly supposed there will be a rout of the Government, nothing here suggests otherwise.
The people, shown by the Moon in Sagittarius in the 11th house applying by square to Saturn in Pisces. The people are also oppressed (Saturn) but they have slightly more power than the government as the Moon has slight dignity in Sagittarius by Face. It will be midsummer and the people are organising (11th house of unions and large organisations) and intent on their ethics being heard (Sagittarius). This may have to do with the protests in support of Palestine which have been worldwide, sustained and massive (all Jupiterian qualities, Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius).
The economy, the most important factor in people’s minds is shown by the 2nd house, of moveable assets and the 8th house of debt. The 2nd house is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, the 8th by Mercury. Interestingly, Mercury is conjunct the 7th house cusp, showing money and indebtedness is forefront in this period.
If we cast our minds back to the Equinox chart I said,
Notice also, the number of planets in the 2nd house of money which reminds me of a quote, not sure from whom, but it was a politician, ‘it’s the economy stupid’ and indeed it is. No fine words or empty promises will alter the fact people are struggling in a crap economy.
There were 6 planets in the 2nd house then. Now, the ruler of the 8th is on an angle, showing this is the issue uppermost in people’s minds, the country has unsustainable levels of debt and we are all (except for the super rich) poorer and more indebted.
The final aspect the Moon makes is a square to Neptune, co-ruler of the 2nd house and in that house. Square aspects show difficulty and problems, the election will not solve people’s money problems. The opposition is more of the same although arguably less toxic than the incumbent. I would take the Moon to also show the leader of the opposition, ruling the 7th house of open enemies. Again, with slight dignity but heading for an impasse (square to Saturn) and powerlessness and confusion (square to Neptune).
Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Not yet I fear.
