Culpeper gives Red Campion (Silene dioica) to Saturn and as such it is cooling and drying. It is a styptic, in that it stops bleeding both internally and externally and is a diuretic and helps to remove stones in the bladder and kidneys.

Meadowsweet or Queen of the meadow, is a herb of Jupiter (in this I disagree with Culpeper who gives it to Venus).

Cornflowers or bluebottle as Culpeper calls them (Centaurea cyanus) are not much used in Herbal medicine these days, but both Culpeper and Maud Grieve valued their medicinal properties.

I wish you could smell this white lavender, its fragrance is a mixture of lemon, lavender and perhaps eucalyptus. Absolutely gorgeous.

Ginger is a herb of Mars par excellence.

Centuary (Erythraea centarium) is a herb of the Sun. The name is said to come from Chiron the centaur who used it to heal a wound caused by the poisoned blood of the hydra. It is extremely bitter and was once known as 'gall of the earth'. Culpeper describes it as 'wholsom but not very toothsom'

Horsetail is such an interesting herb, its Latin name Equisetum means horse bristle relating to the structure of the plant.
