The trial of Trump returned a unanimous verdict this week. He was found guilty on all 34 charges. The verdict was read out at the last moment in the court house in New York. Trump is the only ex-president to face and be convicted on felony charges.1
Let us have a look at his chart. What was happening by way of transits when he was found guilty?
Notice his natal MC at 24’10, transiting Uranus was at 24’06, exactly on his Midheaven in other words. His mid-heaven is his public standing, his career and his relationship with the state, Uranus the shock tumble from grace. I’m guessing he was not expecting to be found guilty. Uranus has been transiting his 9th house of the law during his several trials this year.
Returning to the theme of his public face. Trump’s natal Pluto is at 10’3 of Leo and the MC of the verdict is at 8’26 Leo, so his Pluto, which is in the 12th house of self undoing is given the thumbs down. In his natal chart, Pluto rules the IC which is concerned with the end of things, this may be at least, the beginning of the end.
Notice also his Libra planets, Jupiter at 17’27, Chiron at 14’54 and Neptune at 5’51 Libra. The North Node is exactly opposite his Chiron at 14’06 Aries so the South Node of the judgement would have been conjunct his Chiron (N and S nodes are always opposite) this is a past lesson (South node) coming back to bite you (Chiron). Trump did not learn his lesson, (South Node) and now he has to pay the price (Chiron).
The trial started on April 15th and the sentence will be given on July 11th. On July 11th Mars will be at 23 Taurus, moving to conjunct his MC at 24’10 Taurus. Mars, the god of war, is powerful in his chart, he has Mars in Leo conjunct his Ascendant, which explains his aggression and selfishness. Arguably, if he treated people with less arrogance, they might not have betrayed him in court. More worryingly, Mars moves to conjunct Uranus three days later on July 15th at 26’19 Taurus. Will this signify violence? He does, after all have form, January 6th insurrection. Mars Uranus conjunctions often symbolises violence or the threat of brute force and sudden chaos.
The Mars Uranus could also be a surprise sentence. Felony charges usually do merit jail time. I am sure Trump and his supporters will not be expecting this. They plan to appeal in any case, and the appeal may not be heard until after the November 5th elections. Will this mean a President behind bars? It is hard to imagine it will, but then, nothing about Trump and his rise has been easy to foresee. Against the odds, he was nominated and against the odds he won the election in 2016. He does seem to have a charmed life, dodging and diving the consequences of his behaviour.
Jupiter the planet of lucky escapes has just now entered Gemini and will conjunct his Uranus, Sun and North Node in his 10th house, starting with Uranus on the 9th of August. He may well be blessed with Jupiter’s helpful rays throughout next year. On the other hand, he is getting old, and will be 78 in June, which begs the question how long will these greybeards dominate the political scene in the USA, Biden will be 82 in November.
Like the UK election I wrote about last time, the USA political system seems broken, exhausted and burnt out, run by elderly men who are not at the peak of their powers. America deserves better. But I suspect, as Pluto retrogrades back into Capricorn for the final time on September 3rd, there are more twists and turns to come. Capricorn, as we have previously discussed rules the State, the Government and what I call the Patriarchy, by which I mean those forces and power blocs which are racist, misogynist, homophobic, Islamophobic, antisemitic, ecocidal and warmongering.
There is a Chinese curse which goes, ‘may you live in interesting times’. This autumn, at least until Pluto finally enters Aquarius on November 19th, will doubtless be an interesting time.
