Whatever you may feel about the assassination of the CEO of a massive health insurance conglomerate, it is undeniable that Luigi has captured the zeitgeist in the USA and even in London, where were are spared the barbaric American health system in which literally hundreds of thousands of people die and are bankrupted by greedy corporates each year¹. However, Luigi was not one of them, he was neither poor nor insured by United Healthcare. He has, however been seen as a modern day Robin Hood, righting the wrongs of corporate greed. Why should that be?

The chart comes from Marjory Orr who gives a birth time of 12.13 EDT (other sites do not have the birth time)² I like this time as it makes him Leo rising which fits his demeanor. He certainly has charmed his fans, who, have raised over $450,000 to pay for his legal defence. Huge crowds have gathered for his various court dates and he has remained composed and regal throughout the various public appearances.

What does his astrology tell us? Violence in the chart is often shown by Mars Uranus aspects as indeed this is the case here. He has Sun Mars in Taurus, Mars in Taurus holds grudges and can be brutal, crushing and annihilating enemies, conjunct the Sun brings force and determination. Both planets are square Uranus in Aquarius conjunct the Descendant, which rules open enemies. Furthermore, Chiron in Scorpio, another grudge bearing and vindictive sign opposes the Sun Mars and also squares Uranus making a T Square. Uranus is strong in its own sign, Aquarius. This is someone who does not forgive or forget.

His Moon is in ruminating Virgo and opposed by a dignified, powerful Jupiter in Pisces in the eighth house. The opposition is square Fortuna in Sagittarius in the fifth house, making a second T Square. Moon Jupiter can inflate and give messianic tendencies, the second and eighth houses show personal wealth (2nd) and inherited or family wealth (8th) are major issues in life, and indeed Luigi comes from a large, wealthy family, who are also in the healthcare business, they run care homes. Luigi’s family have been notably silent, neither condemning him nor speaking in his defence.

Fame, or notoriety is shown by the MC and its ruler. His MC is ruled by a feisty Venus in Aries which is trine Pluto in Sagittarius in the 4th and ruling the IC or the end of the matter. The ninth house is the house of philosophy and is often highlighted in gurus and other ‘messianic’ leaders. Certainly, Luigi has become a huge public figure. Indeed, when you say Luigi, everyone knows who you are talking about. Both Venus and Pluto are sextile Neptune in Aquarius in the sixth house making a Minor Grand Trine (two sextiles and a trine). In all major aspects, T Squares etc. when one planet is hit by a transits all the planets in the aspect are energised. Notice Neptune is in the sixth house of health (he is reported to have chronic back pain) and Neptune rules the eighth house of surgery (which he had on his back) and also death.

So what of the shooting? If the time is correct, then the Ascendant of the shooting 7’39 Sagittarius is exactly conjunct Luigi’s natal Pluto at 7’13. This echoes the theme of annihilation and death (Pluto is Lord of Death). Luigi’s Mercury (19’28), the psychopomp (carrier of souls to Hades) is exactly conjunct the shooting Chiron at 19’17 Aries, Chiron being in the 4th house of endings and in Aries showing aggression. Also, Luigi’s Venus (3’14) is conjunct the shooting North Node at 3’49 Aries, remember his Venus rules his MC, so this is his fame/infamy, conjunct the North Node has a fated quality to it. Which certainly has turned out to be the case. Shootings and even assassinations are a fairly routine occurrence in New York. This killing, perhaps because it involved two middle class, wealthy white men, or perhaps because it touched a nerve with Americans utterly sick of the abusive medical insurance business, hit the headlines and continues to engender massive popular support for Luigi.

Subsequently, many stories have flooded social media of the terrible behaviour, callous decisions of medical insurance companies which are multi billion dollar businesses. The catchphrase ‘deny, defend, depose’ the response of the insurance adjusters ended up on merch, to such an extent Amazon withdrew it from sale. After all, it was possible other CEOs might be in the firing line and they didn’t want to encourager les autres.

Interestingly, The New Moon just before the shooting on December 1st was at 9’33 Sagittarius conjunct Luigi’s natal Pluto at 7’15 (I allow two degrees of orb for lunation contacts). New Moons are times of initiation and new beginnings and remember Sagittarius and fame and also that anything which affects one part of a major aspect energises all the planets. So, in this case, Venus and Neptune are drawn in. Venus in Aries, fame and aggression, Neptune, delusion and death (ruler of the 8th house).

The date of a trial has yet to be determined, the prosecutor is reportedly aiming for the death penalty. Luigi’s lawyer argues it is impossible for him to have a fair trial because of the police and prosecutor’s behaviour, including an HBO show discussing the evidence of his guilt, no less. This reminds me of O.J. Simpson’s murder trial. He was clearly guilty, but the jury found him not guilty, refusing to convict a black sporting hero in a time of widespread race riots and police brutality in Los Angeles. O.J. also had an excellent defence team who drove coach and horses through the prosecution’s handling of the case. Luigi has also hired fantastic lawyers. There is of course the ‘Epstein solution’ but that might be harder to achieve as his fellow prison inmates apparently see Luigi as a folk hero.

Neither Saturn nor Neptune will conjunct his natal Venus until well into next year (March and April respectively) but Saturn will oppose his Moon on March 12th this year and Pluto will conjunct his Neptune on December 12th 2025. Look out for ‘showings’ on those dates.
