A revolution?

changing times

I wonder if the emerging theme of Chiron in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius is the championing of the collective (Aquarius) and a rejection of the selfishness, bullying and egocentricity of recent years (Aries).

I had originally planned, and half written a blog about Diane Abbott being suspended, but events overtook me which may make the whole issue moot. If Diane Abbott was a thorn in Starmer’s side, Corbyn is his Achilles’ heel. Corbyn was suspended from the party and went on to win his seat in the election by a huge majority.

On Thursday, along with Zarah Sultana, another suspended Labour MP, Corbyn announced they would be starting a new party based on community and socialist values. This follows the outstanding success of Democratic candidate for New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani who won the nomination by running a grassroots campaign with a tiny war chest. His platform was to support the people of New York themselves, not exactly a radical idea, but an unusual one as US politics has become an extension of the oligarchy, bought and sold. The UK is following in their footsteps as always, with a supposed Labour party brown nosing the rich and abandoning the poor.

So what of the astrology? Chart info: Marjorie Orr

Natal chart for Zohran Mamdani, showing the positions of planets and astrological signs.

What an extraordinary chart for our times! Pluto is currently retrograding back to conjunct his Ascendant and oppose his dignified Saturn in Aquarius in the 7th house. This is a man changing the game. Notice also that Chiron is opposing his Sun at 24′ Libra, this is destiny at work. The ruler of the MC, Venus in Virgo conjunct Jupiter in the 2nd house shows luck, support and dogged determination (Virgo) which describes his campaign, door knocking, talking to the people (Virgo has a humble, man of the people vibe). Venus also rules the 3rd house of neighbours, which is his whole platform. His New York is not for the rich, but the city of the people. He roundly defeated the wealthy, corrupt Cuomo, who spent millions on his campaign. A revolution indeed.

So, what of Corbyn…

This is a rectified chart so we cannot be certain of the time but it gives us a similar theme to Mamdani’s. A Virgo MC (man of the people) especially as Mercury ruler of the MC is in chatty, collegiate Gemini in the 7th house conjunct Venus, ruler of the 11th house of large organisations, (political parties, trades unions, the Peace and Justice Movement) etc. Corbyn’s Sun is also in the 7th emphasizing his sociable and debating skills. It was Corbyn who spoke to a massive crowd at Glastonbury one year and was feted like a superstar. The ebullient crowd sang ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn’ recorded and then hidden by the BBC. A first for any British politician I imagine, as they are almost universally loathed in the UK.

I have a few appointments for chart readings at the moment: natal, medical and horary, info here:

Corbyn’s chart picks up the Pluto in Aquarius theme, his Jupiter at 2’06 Aquarius shows his vision (Jupiter) is one of humanitarianism (Aquarius). Notice transiting Chiron currently at 27′ Aries about to go retrograde, is picking up his North Node at 25’11 Aries and will conjunct it October/November 2025. Uranus will conjunct his Sun next year (first contact August 6th 2026) and oppose his first house Chiron soon afterwards. Is this the denial of fame (Chiron in the 1st?), perhaps.

What about Zarah Sultana? We do not have a birth time for her so we cannot look at the houses. The Moon will be in Taurus it changes sign the next day, although we cannot be sure of the degree.

Notice the Aquarian theme is picked up again, although at a much later degree, her strong Saturn in Aquarius is at 23’38. Transiting Chiron is showing again, almost exactly opposite her Jupiter in Libra at 27’53. She has a formidable Mercury, Mars, Pluto conjunction in Scorpio, this is someone very interested in power. They may be opposite her Taurus Moon, which, is conjunct Corbyn’s Moon at 21’59 Taurus, showing a real synastry between them. If Corbyn’s Ascendant is correct at 23’59 Scorpio then these three sit on his Ascendant. There were rumours that Sultana announced the new party as a way of moving things on, blindsiding Corbyn. If true, that is a classic Scorpio move.

What of the new as yet unnamed party? The time from sky (time adjusted for UT).

Again, picking up the Pluto/Aquarius theme, the Moon is moving to conjunct the Sun, exact at 2’Leo 8 later that day. Chiron on the descendant picking up Corbyn’s North Node and Sultana’s Jupiter. Not sure I would have chosen a retrograde Mercury time to announce something new, it is conjunct Corbyn’s Pluto (maybe showing that unscripted announcement by Sultana). The chart does make a powerful Kite, grand trine plus sextile, of Sun in Leo, trine Saturn Neptune in Aries, Trine Lilith in Sagittarius, with Pluto opposing the Sun and sextile the Saturn/Neptune and Lilith.

Last time I checked, two days after launching, they had 400,000 sign ups for the new party. An extraordinary number more than Labour (309,000) Reform (228,000) and Conservatives (123,000).

Exciting times…
