The new leader of the Green Party comes out fighting.
Zack Polanski the new leader of the Green Party has the archetypal politician’s chart. We do not know his time of birth so we can only look at the planets and the aspects between them.
The first thing to note are the signs of ambition and the need for power and recognition, Capricorn and Scorpio. He has a powerful and persuasive Sun Venus conjunction in Scorpio. Scorpios love power and are ideal for some of the dirty dealing that politics seems to require. The really close conjunction with Venus suggests a seductive and persuasive manner, but also an understanding of how politics works, a Machiavellian mindset along with the charm.
As we don’t know the time of birth, we cannot say these two planets are opposite his Moon Chiron conjunction in Taurus. The Moon is dignified in Taurus, strong, thoughtful, a lover of nature and beauty, stubborn but also charming and disarming. Taurus also likes money, not like Scorpio for the power it gives them, but for security and to buy beautiful things. Taurus, as an earth sign is all about conservation, no surprise then, that he argues for the redistribution of wealth and fairness which has a practical side. Taurus is always fair, and naturally understands that a more equitable world will be a calm world, which is what Taurus craves.
Polanski describes his political views as Eco-populist, linking broad issues like the high cost of living and the climate emergency as the result of wealth inequality.

The Moon Chiron is opposite Jupiter in Scorpio, which again longs for power and is willing to play the system to get it. Taurus finds dirty dealing distasteful, while Scorpio understands the means sometimes justifies the ends, and in any case loves a power struggle. While Jupiter has bid ideas and is persuasive and enthusiastic.
Chiron conjunct the Moon can be a mother wound, Zack reverted his anglicised name, David Pauldon, to his Jewish name, Polanski. His family emigrated to the UK in the early 20thC, changing their name to avoid antisemitism. Identity, the mother line and wounds of the ancestors, my also be seen with Moon Chiron aspects.
The other interesting aspect is his Mercury, Pluto and Saturn conjunction in Libra. Saturn is exalted in Libra and Mercury is at home (Triplicity), with Pluto between them spicing things up. Many politicians and lawyers have strong Libra planets as Libra loves the cut and thrust of debate. Saturn in Libra is forensic in the way it eviscerates their enemies.
Certainly, he showed this when interviewed after the deaths at a Manchester synagogue, when mainstream politicians jumped on the bandwagon saying the pro-Palestine protests should be shelved in respect. He reminded me of AOC rebutting their facile arguments with poise (Libra) and logic (Saturn).

Finally, he has Mars in Capricorn, shown on the Ascendant here, but we cannot be sure where in the chart it lands. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, because fiery, action orientated, passionate Mars in calculating, strategic and determined Capricorn often make for hugely successful people. They know how power works and how to climb whatever ladder they are aiming for.
You will notice he has Uranus at 3′ Sagittarius 22. He is coming up to his Uranus half return, exact 24 June 2026, which is around the time of the next local elections. Labour is expected to tank badly. This may be the time he comes into his own.
When he was elected leader of the Greens, again we don’t have a time or place, but notice the Moon, the fastest moving planet which often triggers events, at 4′ Capricorn conjunct his political Mars.This makes me suspect his MC is Capricorn, or Mars ruled Scorpio.
Mars in recent days has been transiting his Sun Venus which I think shows his increased political profile, with several interviews on traditional media platforms, although predictably the BBC pulled an interview with him. Further down the line, Saturn will be opposing his Libra planets in Spring 2028. It may be his ambition and focus provide a foil to Farage’s noxious right wing rhetoric.
