‘Why do some women support Right-wing movements, even though they curtail their freedoms?

Anyone who follows this blog will know that I am not Right wing and indeed, I feel that these types of policies are awful sometimes abhorrent and veering towards anti-democratic. Imagine my surprise when two US female politicians, once avid Trump supporters have taken a stand against Zionism and the oligarchs’ stripping of the nation’s wealth. The Maga women are turning. And if Europeans ask ‘what does this have to do with me?’, what happens over there, comes here next…

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a particularly vocal Republican congresswoman, known for her outspoken and unwavering support for Trump (big Daddy).

Among her finest hours are: during Covid she argued vaccine passports were ‘a mark of the beast’ referring to Revelations and that taking the vaccine was being inoculated was ‘pledging allegiance to the Devil’. Posting a picture of herself on Facebook holding an AR-15 style rifle next to pictures of Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib (non white politicians) saying ‘strong conservative Christians to go on the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart.’ Recently, she has been speaking out against Israel, warmongering, the attack on Iran and AIPAC (Israeli lobbying organisation with great influence in US politics) and is one of the few politicians that do not take their money.

We do not have a time of birth so we cannot look at the houses, only the planets and their relationship to each other. So where does this feistiness come from? She has an overheated ,impertinent Venus/Chiron in Aries trine her proud, showy Moon in Leo (we cannot be sure of the degree of the Moon as we don’t have her birth time but it is in orb). Both are sextile her opinionated, provocative Mercury in Gemini.

The Venus/Chiron is opposite Uranus in Libra, which makes her unpredictable and aggressive, prone to violence. These are square a weak Mars in Cancer making a Cardinal T Square. Mars and Venus are in mutual reception (in each others signs of exaltation).

There is another T Square with Saturn weak in Cancer opposite Lilith (the wronged woman) in Capricorn, square Pluto in Libra. This might also explain her explosion of rage (Pluto square Saturn) she called a fellow Republican ‘a little bitch’ on the house floor and has on several occasions confronted AOC calling her a supporter of terrorists. Libran AOC did not respond except to call on House leadership to ensure Congress remains ‘a safe place for Members and staff,’.

When MTG was first elected with 74% of the vote in Georgia in 2020, there was a Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn at 22′, 26′ and 21′ respectively. This was opposite her Mars and picking up the Mars, Venus/Lilith, Uranus T square. Mercury at 26′ Libra was connecting in with the T Square transit. The Moon at 6′ Gemini was moving over her Sun, a classic transit for big life changes (Sun as destiny/life path). This also makes me wonder if she is Leo rising, (she has noticeable peroxide long hair, Leos Ascendant often has a ‘mane’.

Recently, MTG has spoken out about Israel’s interference in US politics, she is one of the very few politicians who do not take Israel’s money via AIPAC. She has been subject to death threats and intimidation. I suspect this is water off a duck’s back for her, her Cardinal T Square is unlikely to be moved. In a classic Gemini move, she has gone public on many news outlets and podcasts calling out the corruption of American politics and doubtless she is heavily armed at all times.

The term Right Wing Women comes from a book by Andrea Dworkin published in 1983, where she discusses the phenomenon of women who support movements which limit their freedoms. Her astrology is interesting.

Like MTG, Andrea had a Mother-wound, in this case Moon conjunct Chiron (MTG had Venus) and they both had aspects to Uranus, which I consider to be a planet of violence. But in Andrea’s case Uranus trines her Moon, a softer aspect, Uranus also rules her Ascendant (with Saturn) so her relationship with violence is writing about it (Libra) in a radical way (Uranus). Her other books include, Pornography and Intercourse which she compared to rape. Notice Saturn Pluto conjunction in Leo, (Pluto is often associated with sexual abuse) trine Mars, Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio, (sex, power, the taboo). Saturn, co-ruler of her Ascendant conjunct Pluto shows her body (Ascendant) did not belong to herself (Pluto). She wrote that she was raped twice.

In her research for the book, she went to a conference, where she was physically threatened by right wing women. So great was their need to silence her.

Candace Owens

Candace Owens is a Black American conservative Christian commentator and political activist. She is known as a strong and vocal Trump supporter and for her criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement. Again, we don’t know her birth time so we cannot use the houses. But the theme repeats, although this time there is a father wound, Mars conjunct Chiron in Cancer opposite Uranus. Dworkin believed there was a father wound in right wing women, who were looking for ‘Daddy’. Candace was brought up by her mother and grandmother, her father was absent.

Her Sun Venus in Taurus is opposite Pluto and square the Moon in Aquarius, makes a Fixed T Square. She is dogged and determined, especially as a Black woman in Maga world, not an easy choice. Aquarians are known to be rebels and iconoclasts. The Saturn Neptune Uranus conjunction in Capricorn echoes the theme about fathers/the patriarchy/strong male leaders (Saturn rules all these). Candace once described Trump as ‘hot’ which certainly takes us into the realm of rose coloured spectacles.

Candace’s other pronouncements include that Macron’s wife is a man (I know), that rapist Harvey Weinstein is innocent. She was communications director for the recently killed Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA from 2017 to 2019 and claims he was killed by an Israeli backed gunman for his pro-Palestine stance. Candace lost her job at The Daily Wire for being critical of Israel’s influence in American politics and their genocide. She has a You Tube channel with around four million subscribers.

Tellingly, both MTG and Candace have repeatedly stated in public that they are not suicidal, in case some ‘accident’ occurs to them because of their political position. Again, that strength of character and fearlessness they both exhibit.

Candace’s Aries MC (ruled by Mars) shows her work is around these themes, although it is a weak Mars and conjunct Chiron which suggests her battles might be paper tiger ones. Pluto opposite her Sun Venus in Taurus also suggests power struggles, the Saturn, Neptune and Uranus conjunction in Capricorn trines her Sun/Venus showing her success, but also a tendency to illusion/delusion (Neptune).

Candace changed her political allegiance several times, pro-Black to anti DEA, liberal to hard right, pro Israel to anti, which may indicate her Taurean pragmatism or Aquarian non-conformism. She also has a Sun Uranus aspect, a trine, like Andrea, which is more stirring up trouble than violence or the threats of MTG, who has Uranus opposite her Venus
