Venus in Scorpio: all the taboos
Venus is an unhappy planet in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio is love and darkness, sex and power, death and death defying, the most degraded and debauched and the phoenix rising to the heavens above the ashes of destruction. Venus went retrograde October 3rd at 08.07, doubling down on the darkness, corruption and power struggles and revealing the depraved underbelly of our world.
Of course, it is easy to find darkness and cruelty in our world, but Scorpio issues of sex, death and abuse have been in the news.
The Cornell 7 case: I don’t intend to go into the details of this case, it has been widely discussed elsewhere, click the link if you want the details and timeline. In the chart of the attack, notice Venus at 9’47 Scorpio, in the 5th house. Mercury the psychopomp was conjunct the Sun, she described the experience as a descent into Hell. Both in Libra, it was a group action, and Lilith, the planet of female rage was also conjunct them and the South Node, showing there will be consequences for all concerned. Scorpio is the sign of rape and trauma, she said, ‘It will haunt me and be part of me the rest of my life.’ But old sins cast long shadows, the perpetrators believed they had ‘got away with it’, but Scorpio, fixed water, hangs on bides its time and exacts exquisite revenge. The chart below shows the beginning of the attack according to the timeline.
On September 16th 2026 she filed a civil lawsuit against the perpetrators and others. On that day Mercury was at 9′ Scorpio conjunct the attack Venus and Venus was at 3′ Scorpio applying to the attack Venus, retribution is beginning.
Of course, attacks like this are not uncommon, but this one has struck a nerve or hit the zeitgeist. Mercury calling it out and Lilith, the planet of female rage has lit a touchpaper and engendered worldwide condemnation, counter attacks and soul searching for men, women, the law and institutions. The men have been named, the institution has been attacked, alumni are withdrawing their funding, a criminal investigation has been started. This will run and run.
Of course, Scorpio is a fixed sign, once those claws grasp hold of something they do not let go and I am reminded of the Greek Hubris, believing you are one of the gods and are above the law. Always, after Hubris, as the Greeks warned us, comes Nemesis or complete destruction.
An even more gruesome showing was the botched execution of Christa Pike, who the authorities in Tennessee failed to kill on 30th September, and is now out of hospital and back in prison. She was born March 10th 1976 in Durham North Carolina. We do not have a time so we cannot read the houses.
Joanna Watters in her weekly blog wrote:
‘Will there be a stay of execution? Venus turns retrograde on her Uranus at nearly 7 Scorpio, so things could be overturned (a Uranus word) but both recent eclipses are in the picture too, the Solar Eclipse of 20 Leo opposite her Venus in Aquarius and the Lunar Eclipse of 5 Pisces conjunct her Mercury. Makes me think a reprieve is unlikely.’
As it transpired, there was no reprieve and also no execution. Her natal Uranus at 6’46 Scorpio picking up the execution Venus at 8’17, her natal Uranus at 13’57 Sagittarius was conjunct transiting Lilith at 14′ 48. Mercury transited her Uranus on the 5th when she regained consciousness. Again, despite the horror (Scorpios terrain) of both her crime and her fate, as well as her horrendous upbringing, it has shone a light on the barbaric process of execution. Her fate remains uncertain.
Finally, the misogynists’ misogynist Andrew Tate, currently in prison awaiting extradition of trafficking, rape and other crimes, shows the same Venus
His 12th house Venus in Scorpio is conjunct Pluto, Venus ruling his 7th house of the ‘other’ describes his depravity towards women and girls. Venus rules his 11th of large groups which shows his many followers. Venus returns to his natal Venus on the 16th of October, there may be progress in his case then. Venus is in his 12th house of prisons, we can hope his incarceration is a long one.
Of course, not all Venus in Scorpios are like this, Scorpio can plumb the depths of the worst in humanity and soar to the heights of humankind, there is always choice.
The planets incline they do not compel
