what comes next…

What can the chart of the Spring Equinox tell us about the coming months? Can we see an election? The Government is shown by the 10th house, Scorpio ruled by Mars in very late Aquarius and Pluto in early Aquarius, they are both in the first house. If we take Pluto to be exalted in Leo, then the planet is currently in detriment and will remain so until 2043. Mars has some dignity (terms) but is void of course (going nowhere). I think we can agree this describes our current Government, without dignity and going nowhere.

Elections are contests and shown by both the 10th house (status) and the fifth (competitions). We have already discussed the 10th house, Mars is void of course, the next aspect Pluto will make is a sextile to the Sun 1 day later. The ruler of the 5th is Mercury in Aries applying to a conjunction of Chiron, both in the second house (just). Mercury has a little dignity (terms). The people, shown by the Moon without dignity in Leo in the 7th house of open enemies, the people are powerless (to call an election) but sporting for a fight (7th house). The people (the Moon) are applying to the ruler of the 5th, they want an election, and an election must be held by October. Notice also, the number of planets in the 2nd house of money which reminds me of a quote, not sure from whom, but it was a politician, ‘it’s the economy stupid’ and indeed it is. No fine words or empty promises will alter the fact people are struggling in a crap economy.

What of Israel? The government is shown by Jupiter ruling the 10th house, in Taurus in the 2nd. The first aspect Jupiter makes is a sextile of Venus, which as it rules the 8th and money suggests more loans are coming his way. Jupiter in Taurus has no dignity and so is peregrine (of no influence). A weak Jupiter in the 2nd house suggests money wasted. Jupiter is moving to conjunct Uranus on the 21st (ruler of the 12th house), suggesting an upset of his own making (12th house). Mars moving into Pisces will sextile Uranus on the 19th, which suggests ‘successful’ military campaigns, Mars ruling war and Uranus showing violence. The Jupiter conjunction two days later points to an over reaching a surprise setback, an overconfidence which has serious consequences.

And what of the people? They are weak in Leo and in Leo’s house the 5th. The Moon applies to a square of Jupiter, they, are also unhappy with their leadership, but being in the 5th house perhaps they are distracting themselves with pleasure as the genocide does not directly affect most of them them.

Washington, which arguably pulls Israel’s strings shows more strain. The President is shown by the Sun in Aries ruler of the 10th, in the 5th house of contests, it is an election year. The Sun is exalted in Aries, so the President is strong, unlike the last two leaders. The Sun is applying to a sextile to Pluto in the 3rd. As mentioned above, Pluto has little dignity, it co-rules the Scorpio Ascendant. What can this mean? The 3rd house rules neighbours, does this mean the President’s neighbours, Canada? Mexico?

Notice Mars, as discussed above is co-ruler of the Ascendant and peregrine (without dignity). Mars is exactly conjunct the IC. The IC shows the end of the matter enquired about, and also land and property. Mars is void of course, could this mean that although an ending is wished for, nothing will come of it. The President is old, and probably would throw in the towel if things were different. But he can’t and there are no alternatives in this battle of old men, on either side. Notice his enemies and supporters, shown by Jupiter and Uranus straddling the 7th house cusp and Venus exalted in Pisces ruling the 7th house applying to a conjunction of Saturn in the 4th house. Very mixed messages. His allies are strong (exalted Venus) and so are his known enemies. But both enemies and allies are about to hit a roadblock (Saturn) and things will get considerably worse, Jupiter conjunct Uranus, but in an unexpected way.

And what of the people? They are in the 9th house of foreign matters, law suits and religion. They are applying by square to that 7th house Jupiter. The people are contra the President’s enemy/enemies. Interesting the 9th house/Jupiter theme. The President’s enemy is indeed besieged by lawsuits, costing a great deal of money (peregrine Jupiter in Taurus) and looks like he might be in for a shock (conjunct Uranus).

Russia shows another difficult chart. The leader Putin, is shown by Jupiter in Taurus in the 2nd house, Jupiter is also co-ruler of the chart with Neptune, strong in the 1st house. As discussed above, Jupiter is heading to a conjunction with Uranus, but before there will be a sextile to Venus which is almost exactly conjunct the Ascendant. Venus in Pisces is full of compassion, and this might relate to the bomb explosion and shootings which happened on Friday. Naturally, the Russian people would have felt sympathy and drawn together after the tragedy, strengthening Putin’s position. This will be short-lived, however as Jupiter moves on to Uranus on April 21st. Interesting that they are in the 2nd house, are there money issues coming up for Russia?

The Russia chart is similar to the Jerusalem chart, both war leaders, both with a peregrine Saturn conjunct the Ascendant. Perhaps both their military ambitions are deluded (Pisces) and stuck (Saturn).

The London chart fills the 2nd house showing how a mismanaged economy is almost exclusively where the focus will lie in the next three months. The Washington chart is bunched in the 4th and 5th houses. The 5th of contests and the 4th of endings, but the ending of what I wonder.

In all cases there is a lopsided, often weak leadership (with the exception of America) and a people with little power to influence events, who might be forgiven for just having fun while their leaders stumble.

  1. Thank you Elisabeth for such an interesting read! I’m very keen to do your Greece astrology week still, although this year it’s unlikely to be feasible but I hope to be able to do it next year, but will keep an eye on your other events this year, best wishes, kate
