Goddess Astrology discusses the lives of women looking through their astrology. They form examples of the Greek Goddesses which represent the planets and signs. It was such a fun book to write, reading about the amazing women from all walks of life and time periods. Seeing how they triumphed through adversity, misogyny and racism to make their mark on the world. On International Women’s Day, it seems appropriate to celebrate our sisters’ achievements.

Pondering Pluto
There have been many interpretations of what PLuto moving in Aquarius will mean for us. This blog discusses what may happened in the liminal space between the Pluto’s exit from one sign and entry into another.
Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus: big trouble and a bit of luck.
This year, on April 21st there is a Uranus Jupiter conjunction in Taurus. This conjunction is rare; the last three were in 1181, 1858 and 1941. The 1941 conjunction was at 25’38 Taurus on the malefic fixed star Algol, as was the 1858 conjunction at 29’25 Taurus. One way to look at these major conjunctions is to see what happened in the past.

Talking Trash: Taylor, Kanye and Kim…
I have to admit that I am not a ‘Swiftie’ and have never heard her music but undoubtedly Taylor Swift is a phenomenon. Her extraordinary 2023 tour earned an estimated $1.4 billion (BBC), the film of the tour, likewise. What stood out to me was her thoughtfulness, giving her staff huge bonuses, sending cash toContinue reading “Talking Trash: Taylor, Kanye and Kim…”
The Dead Hand of Old Men
War, war, what is it good for? These last months old men have lead young men and innocents to their deaths, so many of them, what do they have in common, if anything? Looking at the astrology of tyrants and warmongers what, would I expect to see? Well a lot of Air, as air isContinue reading “The Dead Hand of Old Men”
Not all doom and gloom: musings on the 12th house
Listening to a podcast recently on the 12th house you would be forgiven in thinking that if you had any planets there, especially the Sun or the Moon, you were doomed to solitude, mental illness and the occasional interaction with large animals, all traditional readings of 12th house planets. It is a good podcast generally,Continue reading “Not all doom and gloom: musings on the 12th house”
Misogyny….
Misogyny, from the Greek miso-hate, gynae-women is as prevalent as it was in Ancient Greece. Can we see it in the horoscope or is it less nature than nurture? For this essay I look at two current misogynists both of whom have come a cropper due to their women-hating behaviour. I wondered what I wouldContinue reading “Misogyny….”
Lucky/unlucky? A Tale of two Temperaments.
Temperaments show our basic nature and how we greet the world and in turn how the world greets us. Our temperament is calculated using the Ascendant, the Moon sign and planets ruling them as well as the season we were born in.* How and when we entered this world in other words. Two contrasting lifeContinue reading “Lucky/unlucky? A Tale of two Temperaments.”
The poet, the lover and the Rowan tree
The poet Katherine Raine fell in love with author Gavin Maxwell. Theirs was a stormy relationship, not helped by the fact that Maxwell was gay. Maxwell became famous after he travelled to Iraq with Wilfred Thesiger to explore the marshes (subsequently drained by Saddam Hussein). He wanted to bring an otter home with him. Thesiger found one, who Maxwell named Mijbil and he wrote about his experiences in the best selling book and film Ring of Bright Water, which is a line from one of Kathleen’s poems.
He has married me with a ring, a ring of bright water
Whose ripples spread from the heart of the sea,
He has married me with a ring of light, the glitter
Broadcast on the swift river. Â
Their relationship ended with her curse by a Rowan tree. This blog looks at their synastry and major transits at this fateful time.
The Times they are a changing…the Autumn Equinox
It is always useful to start predictions by retrodiction, looking back to the last quarter. On the solstice we saw a debilitated chart, the Moon (the people) was in detriment in Aries (bad tempered and impatient) and the government (and the establishment) was weak shown by a Void of Course (VC) Venus.
