The eclipse season begins with the Leo eclipse on August 12th with a Solar eclipse in Leo which will be visible in South West England and northern Spain, clouds permitting.
A Solar eclipse happens at the time of a New Moon and a Lunar eclipse occurs at the Full Moon. Either the Moon is located between the Earth and Sun (Solar eclipse) or the Earth is between the Sun and Moon (Lunar eclipse). How can you tell it will be an eclipse? When the lunation is near the North or South Node. This eclipse will be near the South Node.
Eclipses are powerful omens and arguably when Astrological predication originated. In ancient times eclipses were believed to herald the fall of the King or country. Naturally rulers wanted to predict when eclipses might occur and plan how to avoid losing their heads or their kingdom. Eclipses come in series: the Saros1 and Metonic2 cycles are 18 and 19 year cycles respectively.
England 1801 chart is generally used to look at the UK, although there are others.
Saturn in the 1801 chart is conjunct (3 degrees) the eclipse at 23’Leo. The 1801 North Node is currently conjunct Saturn at 14’30 Aries. While Venus has just passed the conjunction of the 1801 Uranus. Saturn rules the 4th house of ancestors and land, and perhaps who can be called British, a hot topic currently. Uranus has just passed the opposition to our 3rd house Chiron (4′ Sagittarius) but will soon retrograde back. It highlights our painful relationships with our neighbours (3rd house) and our overseas interests (9th house).
What would I expect to be triggered by the eclipse? Saturn in Aries in the 11th, ruling the 4th and 5th, perhaps more nonsense about ‘England for the English’ because the 11th is large groups, maybe large groups will be agreeing/disagreeing with this. It may indicate a decline in the Right, or perhaps the idiots will be rioting again…
The USA Sibley chart3 will pick up the Lilith Moon opposition at 27′ and 26′ degrees Leo and Aquarius, shining a light on the 9th house (foreign affairs), the 3rd (neighbours) and the Moon rules the 8th house of debt and death. The aspect is wide and probably won’t have a big effect other than continuing, war, debt and death…
The eclipse will fall near the Ascendant of the USA’s arch enemy of the moment, Iran. But neither aspects are close enough for a regime fall, although a destabilising wobble is to be expected. Both are due for Uranus transits, USA to its Descendant and Uranus (July 11th 2027) and Iran to its Moon (June 13th 2027). In Mundane charts, the people are shown by the Moon, we might expect more unrest in Iran and more enemies and violence by the USA (7th ruling open enemies, Uranus being violence).
So, what of Russia? For a country that is deep into the occult, you can expect that their charts are numerous, confusing and likely dodgy data. The same applies to Putin’s chart, however, even if this is one is bogus…wrong charts can offer surprising interpretations…4
If we look at Putin’s chart (if indeed this is it) we notice the MC at 21′ Leo and the South Node at nearly 20′. So, if it is correct we can expect some showing from the eclipse, especially as Pluto is at 23′ Leo and Pluto is the chart ruler. Certainly, things are not going well for Putin, the war against Ukraine is failing, the economy struggling and people and oligarchs are restless…I would expect a threat to his power base or public standing. The effects of eclipses are not always visible at the time, some say they appear months afterwards. The South Node, may reflect Putin’s (like all these old men rulers tbh) hankering after those ‘good old days’, in Putin’s case, ‘Greater Russia’.
Another old man leader, Xi of China whose Pluto is also exactly on the eclipse degree. We do not have a time, so the Moon might be in early or mid Leo but as Pluto moves so slowly the degree is accurate. Recently, he passed a decree insisting minorities, Tibetans, Ugyhars and others speak only Mandrian and integrate fully into Chinese culture . Of course, a sure fire way to kill a culture is to outlaw its language. Notice also, he has a Saturn Neptune conjunction in Libra (see previous post here) which will be transited by Saturn in May 2027. Without houses it is hard to guess how this might show up, although with the USA in decline arguably he may risk invasion of Taiwan or other ‘Greater China’ moves.
The eclipse is exact on Wednesday at 18.38 in the UK but its effects last several months.
